What’s The Plan

When I was young I had my whole life planned out….or so I thought.

I knew which elementary, middle, and high schools I would graduate from.

And I just knew I would plan a wedding by age 23, even if it was not my own (We thank God for growth lol).

Of course life threw a wrench in my plans starting at the tender age of 11 years old.

I was in the 6th grade at the middle school I always knew I would go to and suddenly my family and I moved to the other side of town. Unfortunately, I was out of my school district which meant I could no longer go to the school of my supposed destiny. Like that I was pulled away from the friends I literally grew up with and forced to start over at another middle school in the middle of the school year. I definitely had a hard time adjusting, but eventually I came to terms with this new and unknown situation. After almost 5 years of settling into this new way of life, my family decided to make yet another move but this time to another city and county in the middle of my sophomore year of high school.

I was 16 years old…starting over yet again. It’s safe to say at that point I stopped planning out every aspect of my life 🙂 lol

As gut wrenching as these changes were in the past, looking back they have been an instrumental learning tool. These transitions have shaped me into the person I am today.

Now don’t get me wrong…..I’m not saying don’t plan for anything, but keep in mind that things change….we have to learn to adjust and adapt to these life changes.

Things don’t always go the way we want, which in a way can protect us from going down a path that was not meant for us.

Though my little plans got scrapped and discarded, God put me a path that was just right for me.

I believe God has bigger plans for me….Bigger than I can even imagine.

“You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail” –Proverbs 19:21 NLT
